Cushman & Wakefield Grows Valuation & Advisory Team, Now Among World’s Largest Hospitality Practices

NEW YORK – Global commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield will add two senior appraisers to its Valuation & Advisory (V&A) teams in Denver and Atlanta, augmenting its industry-leading presence in the U.S. and further cementing its position as one of the largest global hospitality practices, the firm announced today.

Jeffrey Brown, MAI has appraised hotels, resorts, golf, and marina properties for more than 30 years and joins the Cushman & Wakefield team in Atlanta as a Senior Director. He previously worked as a Senior Vice President at HREC Investment Advisors, as a commercial appraiser at G. Randall Hammond & Company, and as a commercial reviewer at Valuation Management Group. Brown also served as Director of Development and Feasibility at Noble Investment Group and as a real estate manager at OTO Development and Extended Stay America. He holds a B.A. in history and political science from Clark University and a M.S. from the prestigious Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
Patrick Bursey will join the V&A team in Denver as an Associate Director and brings more than a decade of real estate experience, with a focus on the hospitality and professional services sectors, to his new role. He most recently worked as a hotel appraiser and hospitality consultant for HVS in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Diego, where he completed hundreds of appraisals, feasibility studies, and market studies for clients spanning the investment spectrum from single assets to portfolios. He previously represented both buyers and sellers in sales transactions with Metro Brokers in Denver. Prior to that, he served for 10 years as Vice President of Finance and Operations for Denver-based Epiphany, where he planned and implemented sales events for second home real estate and resort developers and generated $500 million in real estate closings. He holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Denver and is a certified general commercial real estate appraiser in Colorado.

The hires are the latest in a string of key personnel acquisitions for Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory team, which consists of 45 hospitality professionals globally. The V&A team valued 1,850 properties in the United States valued at $80 billion (USD) and 250 properties valued at $8 billion (CAN) in Canada last year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Patrick and Jeff to the Cushman & Wakefield family,” said Mark Capasso, Executive Director and Practice Group Leader, Hospitality & Gaming for Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory platform. “Their collective wealth of experience, depth of knowledge, and client-focused attitude fit hand-in-glove with the priorities of our hospitality team, and their expertise will bolster our reach in the Rocky Mountain states and across the Southeast.”
